Luum’s Knurl textural upholstery fabrics graded in on Gus* Design Group products - 24th December, 2019
Luum Textiles announced today that, as part of a limited-edition partnership with the Gus* Design Group, three of its Knurl textural upholstery fabrics are graded in on the Gus* x Luum Collection, which comprises the Gus* Modern Halifax Chair and Porter End Table.
“The Gus* x Luum Collection reimagines the Gus* Modern Halifax Chair and Porter End Table in playful color combinations inspired by three captivating fabrics from Luum Textiles,” says David Podsiadlo, Lead Designer and cofounder of Gus*. “The result is a series of alluring designs that explore the creative possibilities of fabric and furniture, combining form and texture in bold new ways.”
“As the distinction between our work, home and social activities continues to dissolve, Knurl is a textural upholstery fabric from our Focus In Collection that comfortably lives in a contract or residential setting. The straightforward weave structure allows thick, knubby rows of polyester yarns to shine. The exaggerated texture provides opportunities to create visual interest through texture and color,” said Suzanne Tick, Creative Director, Luum Textiles.
Three Knurl colorways were chosen, which influenced corresponding choices for metal and wood finishes. The Gus* designers took a bold approach to color selection, inspired in part by the work of the Memphis Design Group, a pioneering Italian collective from the 1980s known for their unexpected color choices.
The Gus* x Luum Collection will be available this fall in the U.S. and Canada at select Gus* retail showrooms and e-commerce websites, and through Teknion dealers.
